Its been nearly six months since Zach and I said 'I do' and while driving around Tuscany during the days that led up to our wedding we made the decision to create our travel blog and to document our past, present, and upcoming travels. Now that some time has passed and fall is moving in to winter, we wanted to share some thoughts, photos, and favorites from our go-to fall destination: Woodstock, Vermont. After you read this post we would love to hear your thoughts and hear about your favorite fall spots in the comments below!
The fall season has been good to us; as I mentioned in my previous blog post ,Ode to Autumn, I had some big changes with my business, launched my portfolio; and in October Zach and I had our wedding photos published in Martha Stewart Weddings, and this month our engagement photos published on Style Me Pretty - each a pleasant surprise following all of our hard work since our wedding in May and my launching Lex & Lynne Bridal. But despite all of our life changes and business, our travel blog has been our constant and my favorite past-time this fall.
Our most favorite part of writing this travel blog has been revisiting all of our past travels: writing about our experiences, providing knowledge, and of course tons of photo-taking for inspiration. One of our favorite fall getaways is Woodstock, Vermont; where we found ourselves spending many weekends there recounting our travels, writing notes, and brainstorming new adventures during hikes, coffee-dates, dinners, and late nights by the fireside.
I wanted to zoom in on the picturesque town, so for the perfect weekend getaway we suggest staying at the Woodstock Inn, right in the center of the village and surrounded by little shops, delicious restaurants, and bars. From here we recommend the Prince and the Pauper for a romantic dinner, and Mon Vert for a morning coffee and quick bite. Our favorite daytime activity is to hike Mount Tom and picnic with a couple of sandwiches from the Woodstock Farmer's Market. Sites to visit include Billings Farm, and we love making our rounds to Farmhouse Pottery - we've even adopted this pottery collection in to our shops Mick + Kip and Lex & Lynne. Make your weekend complete with a tour of Long Trail Brewery and lunch to follow on a Sunday afternoon.
We've hit the ground running upon returning from our wedding in Italy, and we have so many exciting travels coming up that we can't wait to share with you. In the mean time, enjoy some of our favorite scenes from fall in Woodstock, it has really been breathtaking! So as we farewell to this perfect fall season and head to South Africa for the next couple of weeks we want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. We are certainly very grateful for all of the love and support from our family and friends, readers and followers; and for the opportunities to explore this beautiful world.
