Location: Lille, France
Welcome to Lille! Before heading home to the States, Lex and I wanted to check out this beautiful city for a weekend getaway. Clarance Hotel became our home away from home for the few days and was located in the heart of the city. This post takes you through transportation, dining, where to stay, and what to do for the perfect weekend getaway in Lille.
Locations: Limoges and Nieul, France
Lex and I seek out a luxurious chateau nestled in the French countryside to celebrate our anniversary, La Chapelle Saint Martin in Limoges, France, where we immediately felt at home and the staff and owners treated us like family. Fine dining, beekeeping, a private tour at Bernardaud, a restored monastery, exploring the countryside in a vintage CV2, our weekend was filled with romantic adventure and culinary delights!
Location: Lake Titicaca, Peru
Discover the land and the water of the region Lake Titicaca, the breathtaking Lake within the Andes Mountains that straddles the border between Bolivia and Peru. Beyond the horizon you'll experience faraway lands, unique cultures, and landscapes only one can imagine. A remote destination, see Peru through the eyes of locals and travel by boat to the floating Islands, meet the Uros, and Taquile Island.
Locations: Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu, Peru
Discover Machu Picchu and stay in luxury at Inkaterra hotel! As one of the seven wonders of the world and perhaps one of the most well-known spots on the planet, we knew this had to be our next stop during our Peru-adventure following Urubamba. We rode the train from Urubamba to Aguas Calientes, taking in the beautiful Andes mountains along the way, arrived in Aguas Calientes, explored the street markets, hiked to the Sun Gate, and of course, the main highlight: Machu Picchu!
Location: Urubamba, Peru
Discover Urubamba, a small town located in the Peruvian Highlands at around 9,500ft high and our first chapter of our travels through Peru! We stayed in a luxury casita at Relais Chateaux Hotel Sol y Luna. With our own private casita, we found comfort and adventure in the Sol y Luna experience, and you will, too. The hotel's regionally inspired architecture and artwork complements the landscape and immediately transports you to the Peruvian paradise most travelers only dream about. There is no better way to embrace the spirit of the Sacred Valley than to stay in luxury in the center of it all.
Location: Zürich, Switzerland
The most important thing about a trip to Zurich is to have a centrally located home base. We recently passed through Zurich for a few days, mixing a little bit of business with pleasure and enjoying the city. When looking for the best location and service in the city there is one answer – Baur au Lac. With a two-star Michelin fine dining restaurant, Au Pavillon, a one of a kind artwork collection, fall in love with this family-owned five star hotel!
