Welcome to Lille! Before heading home to the States, Lex and I wanted to check out this beautiful city for a weekend getaway. Clarance Hotel became our home away from home for the few days and was located in the heart of the city. This post takes you through transportation, dining, where to stay, and what to do for the perfect weekend getaway in Lille.

Locations: Limoges and Nieul, France

Lex and I seek out a luxurious chateau nestled in the French countryside to celebrate our anniversary, La Chapelle Saint Martin in Limoges, France, where we immediately felt at home and the staff and owners treated us like family. Fine dining, beekeeping, a private tour at Bernardaud, a restored monastery, exploring the countryside in a vintage CV2, our weekend was filled with romantic adventure and culinary delights!

Location: Urubamba, Peru

Discover Urubamba, a small town located in the Peruvian Highlands at around 9,500ft high and our first chapter of our travels through Peru! We stayed in a luxury casita at Relais Chateaux Hotel Sol y Luna. We recently visited Dublin for a quick work-related couple of days and treated ourselves to The Merrion Hotel's Art Tea. Wow, were we blown away! Inspired by the 90% Irish fine art collection that adorns this luxury hotel, the chef's take on each pastry, cake, and savory-dish was unique and unfiltered. Every moment of our dining experience was full of wonder and we urge you to read more and discover this one-of-a-kind dining experience!

Location: Zürich, Switzerland

The most important thing about a trip to Zurich is to have a centrally located home base. We recently passed through Zurich for a few days, mixing a little bit of business with pleasure and enjoying the city. When looking for the best location and service in the city there is one answer – Baur au Lac. With a two-star Michelin fine dining restaurant, Au Pavillon, a one of a kind artwork collection, fall in love with this family-owned five star hotel!

If there ever was a hidden gem it is our discovery of Wakefield, Canada: the small, quaint, charming water-front town just 40 minutes north of Ottawa. What started as an almost accidental discovery turned in to one of our best getaways! We discovered the town via Airbnb when searching for unique stays and stumbled upon a boat-house! Little did we know we had stumbled upon a great find for all the little things! Dining, sight-seeing, activities, and more!
